An old wooden pier reaching into still water

Exactly one stone’s throw from the Inn.

Getting there

Directions from the Inn.

Leave the porch of the Gork Inn, face Weed Road, and walk approximately one medium stone’s throw. We have paced it at fourteen seconds, nine if it is raining, and considerably longer if you meet anyone on the way. Stone’s Throw is the house at 69 Weed Road with the newest paint and, on most mornings, the smell of serious coffee. If you find yourself back at the number 72 mailbox, you have overshot by exactly one driveway.

Guests of the house get everything the Inn offers, at a slight remove: the same beach, the same lake, VIP access to The Sandbar. You’re in good company no matter where you’re staying.

The new build

The ink is barely dry.

Lindsay and Jason finished Stone’s Throw in 2024, which makes it the newest thing on this stretch of Weed Road by roughly forty years. Everything closes properly, nothing creaks (yet), and the hot water arrives without negotiation.

The big dinners have already defected: Thanksgiving is hosted here now, on account of the kitchen being — and we say this with love for the Inn — vastly better at it. Give the rest time. The lake gets into everything eventually.

Stay

Where the Inn overflows.

The house sleeps more people than it strictly advertises, in actual beds, and on mattresses purchased this decade. Overflow from the Inn lands here and, within about an hour, starts referring to it as the quiet side of the property.

Kate’s quilts have not yet colonized the linen closet, but it is considered a matter of time.

The machine

The coffee situation is serious.

Jason Jura.

Don’t worry, the morning Dunkin’ run remains a protected tradition. The two beverages do not compete. They coexist, like the loons and the boats.
